Our Solar panels
On top of Barkers Garage, our solar panels capture the power of the sun to generate clean, renewable energy. This reduces our reliance on traditional electricity, cuts harmful emissions, and helps us operate in a more sustainable way. By producing our own green energy, we’re lowering our carbon footprint while keeping the garage running efficiently and responsibly.
Battery Storage
Our Tesla battery system works hand-in-hand with the solar panels on Barkers Garage, storing the renewable energy we generate during the day. This means we can power the garage even when the sun isn’t shining, reducing waste and ensuring a steady supply of clean electricity. By capturing and reusing our own energy, we cut down on grid demand and take another big step towards a greener, more sustainable future.
Rainwater collection system
At Barkers Garage, we’ve installed an 18,000L rainwater tank that collects and stores rainwater for everyday use. This reclaimed water supplies our toilets and other non-drinking facilities in the shop, helping us conserve mains water and reduce waste. By making use of a natural resource that would otherwise go down the drain, we’re lowering our environmental impact and taking another step towards sustainable operations.
Our Bee Hives & Wild Flower Meadow
Beside our unit, Barkers Garage is home to two thriving beehives nestled in wildflower meadows. By supporting the local bee population, we’re helping to protect one of nature’s most important pollinators. Healthy bee colonies encourage biodiversity, strengthen local ecosystems, and contribute to a greener environment. It’s a small but powerful way we’re giving back to nature right on our doorstep.
Responsible Bio-Waste Management
At Barkers Garage, we take the disposal of bio waste seriously. Items such as oil filters, antifreeze, and other hazardous materials are carefully collected and recycled or disposed of through certified waste management partners. This ensures harmful substances don’t end up in landfills or waterways. By handling waste responsibly, we protect the environment while keeping our operations clean, safe, and sustainable.
Oil Waste Recycling
Used oil from our workshop never goes to waste. At Barkers Garage, all oil is collected and sent for recycling, where it can be cleaned and repurposed for future use. This process prevents pollution, reduces reliance on new oil production, and supports a circular economy. By recycling every drop, we’re making sure our garage runs responsibly while protecting the environment.
